Overview: Our latest policy brief explores how climate change is affecting women’s health in Kenya through heat exposure and unpaid care burdens, agriculture and food system vulnerabilities, and the resilience of women-led health initiatives. The brief also identifies practical entry points for integrating gender-responsive health approaches into Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) implementation.

Developed ahead of COP31 in 2026, this brief aims to support evidence-informed policymaking and strengthen dialogue between climate, health, and gender stakeholders. It is informed not only by research and policy analysis, but also by stakeholder perspectives shared during a SHE Changes Climate roundtable held in Kenya in March 2026.

We invite policymakers, practitioners, researchers, and advocates to read the brief and join the conversation on gender-responsive climate and health policy.
