Steering Committee

The Steering Committee, composed of its co-founders and other experts, provides strategic direction to SHE Changes Climate, ensuring alignment with its mission and values. It sets out strategic priorities and fulfils an active role in identifying key partnerships and resource mobilization.

  • Antoinette Vermilye

    Antoinette Vermilye

    Antoinette Vermilye is the co-founder of the Gallifrey Foundation and SHE Changes Climate. She is passionate about exploring and addressing the complex interrelationships between the ocean, plastics, gender, climate change, and overfishing; and how these interconnected issues contribute to social injustice, human health challenges, and environmental degradation.

    Antoinette advocates for building strong, cross-sector coalitions to develop solutions with long-term, far-reaching impacts. Where such collaborations do not yet exist or where critical gaps are being overlooked, she actively steps in to initiate and drive meaningful change.

  • Bianca Pitt

    Bianca Pitt is an advisor to the environmental charity sector, an activist and campaigner, and an environmental funder. She is the founder of the Women of the Environment Network and co-founder of SHE Changes Climate.

    She also serves on a number of boards and advisory committees which include ClientEarth, The Environmental Funders Network, The Sustainable Angle, Action for Conservation and Nature 2030.

  • Cindy Forde

    Cindy Forde is the founder of Planetari, the organisation dedicated to worldwide environmental education. She has worked with leaders across sectors including the UN, government, NGOs, finance, business, technology and education. She was CEO of the Cambridge Science Centre and Managing Director of the Blue Marine Foundation, where she headed a global team dedicated to protecting and regenerating the world's oceans.

  • Esmeralda de Rethy

    Princess Esmeralda of Belgium is a journalist, documentary-maker, author, and keynote speaker. A member of the Belgian Royal Family, she is a committed advocate for environmental protection, human rights, women’s rights, and the rights of Indigenous peoples. She has co-produced documentaries and authored several books on environmental issues and Nobel Peace Prize-winning women, and actively supports communities in the Amazon.
