SHE Changes Climate Brazil Network

Launched in March 2024, SCC Brazil is building a women-led climate movement rooted in regeneration, equity, and local action. We convene cross-sector leaders, amplify frontline voices, and shape inclusive policies to build a gender-just bioeconomy across Brazil’s unique territories.

Key Milestones

March 2024: Launch of SCC Brazil

25 leaders met at Sinal do Vale to shape a shared vision for a gender-responsive bioeconomy. The dialogue spotlighted policy and local solutions, from mentorship to financial access.

July 2024: T20 Think Tank

SCC Brazil brought grassroots women and young activists to shape the G20’s bioeconomy agenda, ensuring real inclusion in global climate decision-making.

August 2024: Mentorship Gathering with Vandana Shiva

A powerful intergenerational exchange with ecofeminist leaders Thais Corral and Vandana Shiva on the future of climate leadership rooted in care, nature, and justice.

September 2024: National Consultation

40 women leaders gathered to propose a national network organized by biomes and create a gender-responsive roadmap for COP30.

  1. Initiate collaborations with existing initiatives to enhance collective climate action, particularly in preparation for COP 30.

  2. Plan a Women’s event at COP 30 in partnership with Brazilian and international women’s climate organizations, focusing on amplifying women climate leaders’ voices.

  3. Map climate finance opportunities and identify capacity-building needs to improve women leaders’ access to financial resources with a gender-sensitive approach.

  4. Conduct a comprehensive mapping of the gender and climate ecosystem to strategize collaborative actions with key collectives, organizations, and influencers.

  5. Develop a national climate action network structured by biomes to engage localized communities and address Brazils’ diverse environmental needs.

  6. Analyze priorities through discussions with women leaders to refine the national agenda, ensuring it reflects womens’ needs and enhances funding and partnership opportunities.
