Brazil Network
SHE Changes Climate Brazil is building a women-led climate movement rooted in regeneration, equity, and climate justice across Brazil’s diverse biomes. We support a broad network of women leaders—including grassroots organisers, young climate activists, policymakers, women in agriculture, and women in business—through capacity building, visibility, and cross-sector collaboration. As Brazil hosts major global policy moments like the G20 in Rio de Janeiro and the upcoming COP30, She Changes Climate Brazil is working to ensure that women’s voices—particularly those of marginalised and frontline communities—are brought into policy spaces and placed at the centre of climate decision-making. We connect local action to global policy by linking community leaders with funders, institutions, and government actors. With Brazil at the forefront of nature-based solutions and the bioeconomy, She Changes Climate Brazil is ensuring that women are leading this transition—restoring ecosystems, advancing climate justice, and shaping a more inclusive and sustainable future.

March 2024: 25 women leaders from business, policy and grassroots action came together to shape a shared vision for a gender-responsive bioeconomy. The dialogue spotlighted policy and local solutions, from mentorship to financial access.

July 2024: Supported the “Regenerative Bioeconomy: Nature-Based Solutions in Guanabara Bay” event at the Museum of Tomorrow, part of the official T20 track of the G20 Midterm Conference. By bringing grassroots women leaders and young climate activists to the stage and audience, SCC Brazil helped ensure that frontline voices were heard in this high-level policy dialogue.

September 2024: 40 women climate leaders gathered to co-create a national network structured by biomes and shape a gender-responsive roadmap for COP30. The consultation launched collaborations with existing initiatives, outlined plans for a women-led event at COP30, and prioritized mapping of the gender-climate ecosystem and climate finance opportunities. Discussions identified capacity-building needs and refined national priorities to better reflect women's voices and strengthen access to funding and partnerships.

February 2025: SCC Brazil joined civil society organizations to co-shape the Gender Action Plan ahead of COP30, ensuring intersectional voices from Brazil were included.

March 2025: In the lead-up to COP30, She Changes Climate Brazil co-hosted a Women’s Day gathering on March 25, 2025, at Sinal do Vale, bringing together over 30 women leaders from grassroots communities, government, and civil society. The event launched a participatory mapping of women-led climate, health, and nature-based solutions in the Guanabara Bay region and spotlighted scalable initiatives like agroforestry systems and medicinal plant knowledge. Participants also advanced discussions on gender-responsive climate policy and finance, focusing on Brazil’s Gender Action Plan, UNFCCC frameworks, and strategies to unlock funding for women-led solutions.

March 2025: As part of SCC’s Gender Just Transition campaign, SCC Brazil hosted an online webinar spotlighting women entrepreneurs advancing nature-based solutions. Moderated by Katie Weintraub, the event featured a panel with Fabrícia Sterce (Visão Coop and Regenera.AI), Thais Corral (Sinal do Vale), and Andrea Álvares (Ethos Institute), who shared powerful examples of women-led climate action. They highlighted the potential of nature-based solutions to restore ecosystems, build climate resilience, and create economic opportunity—while calling out persistent barriers to finance, technology, and policy influence

April 2025: SCC Brazil joined SCC India to inspire young leaders on climate and gender justice through a training workshop with the Azadi Leadership Programme. The session created space for exchange between networks, sharing case studies of women-led, nature-based solutions from the SCC Brazil network with the group of youth activists in India.
